Accelerated Learning is an effective lesson-planning framework designed to enhance student engagement and retention by providing a structured approach.

The lesson is divided into four stages:

  1. Connect: The teacher links new material to prior knowledge, helping students see its relevance within the broader topic. This can involve reviewing previous lessons, discussing real-world applications, or revisiting key concepts.

  2. Activate: In this stage, the teacher introduces new content in a way that sparks curiosity and sets the stage for learning. Methods like lectures, multimedia, hands-on activities, and discussions help engage students actively.

  3. Demonstrate: Students show their understanding by applying the new information. This may involve problem-solving, creating projects, performing experiments, or presenting findings, encouraging deeper comprehension and critical thinking.

  4. Consolidate: The final stage reinforces the learning through activities like quizzes, revision games, or group discussions. Students solidify their understanding and are given opportunities for further practice, with homework or pre-lesson tasks connecting to the next lesson’s Connect phase.
